Porsche Challenge Slot Car Evening – 1 Sep 2009
On the evening of Tuesday the 1st of September, a group of young boys gathered in the premises of Hornsby Slot Cars to try their hand at driving cars along tracks using electricity. These boys were disguised as respectable (mostly) middle aged men, but were infused with same giggling eagerness inherent in ten-year olds left on their own in a toy shop.
With their entry fees paid out of their pocket money, each boy was allowed a 1/32 scale Porsche slot car as a keepsake of the evening. Some of them paid a little extra to get a model upgrade, and several were tempted by the Playboy-liveried models (4 wheels, not 2 legs) and wondered how they would be able to take one home and explain it to their wives.
